Funeral services for Octavene Miller Booker, 81, of Newton, Texas will be Friday, December 6, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Newton with interment following at Newton City Cemetery.

Mrs. Booker passed away at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, on November 30, 2013.

A native of Burkeville, Texas, Mrs. Booker was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of Newton Gardeners Club, First United Methodist Church, NABA, Red Hat Society, and was a Camp Fire Leader for several years in Port Neches.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wadie and Loneal Miller, Lester and Vessie Platt and her husband Bobby Booker.

Survivors include daughter, Mary Booker Perroni and husband Joseph Perroni; son Robert T. Booker Jr. and wife Jan Hill Booker; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, L C Platt and wife Jackie and numerous nieces and nephews.
