DAVENPORT DIES AT STURGIS HOME
STURGIS, S.D. (AP) – Longtime South Dakota business and civic leader Jarvis Davenport, 80, died at his home Sunday.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at the Episcopal Church in Sturgis.
Davenport was instrumental in organizing the Greater South Dakota Association, Black Hills, Bad Lands and lakes Association and the South Dakota Automobile club. He had also served on the South Dakota Cement Commission and held various other civic and community posts.
