Christine Joann Black, 61, a lifelong resident of New Sewickley Township, passed on Friday, January 4, 2013.

She was born June 13, 1951 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Floyd and Laura (Frame) Black. She was an optometrist by vocation and was last employed with Wal-Mart Vision Care.

A loving and kind person, she was everyone's grandma; her affectionate name was 'Nana'.

She is survived by one son, Edward D. Payne and his companion, Carli Shingleton, Rochester; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Leonard Payne-Calianno and Rhonda J. and Andre M. West; three grandsons, Jared and Jamison Gibson and Zachary P. West and a great-granddaughter, Jaliya Gibson; all of Rochester; one brother, Joseph Anthony Gaudio, OH; three sisters, Patricia Gaudio Capo, OH; Antoinette Gaudio Simmons, GA and Nancy Gaudio Green, GA and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park), with Pastor Donald W. MacNeil, officiating.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
