Viola Mae "Vi" Hardy, 86, of Springfield, formerly of Elkhart, died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Villa Health Care East in Sherman. She was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Springfield, the daughter of William C. and Cynthia Sprinkle Bacon. She married Maurice Hardy in 1948 in Springfield; he died in 2005.
Mrs. Hardy was a secretary for State Farm Insurance and served as an election judge at Wedgewood Terrace. She was a member of Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Springfield.
Survivors: two daughters, Berta Hardy of Springfield and Cindy (husband, Mike) Gorbett of Rochester; son, Tom (wife, Debbie) Hardy of Sherman; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma (husband, Bill) Pieper of Bakersfield, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services: Vineyard Christian Fellowship, the Rev. Jack Johnson officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
