Seth Owen, 79, of 708 S. Chambers St. died after an extended illness.

Mr. Owen was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Romaine Owen born June 28, 1882 in Mankato, Minnesota. He attended schools in his home state and South Dakota and later homesteaded on land near the Chief Joseph Dam on the upper Columbia River in Eastern Washington. While in Eastern Washington, he practiced as a veterinarian. He married Edna Morris at Bridgeport, WA March 22,1908. The family came to Port Angeles from Buckley, WA in 1928. Mrs. Owen died here in 1959.

While semi-retired, Mr. Owen worked as night deputy sheriff in Port Angeles.

Included among surviving relatives are five daughters: Mrs.Jessie (Chester) Alexander and Mrs. Stella (Bill) Beaton, both of Port Angeles, Mrs. Frances (Gene) Hamill, Seattle, Miss Ardis Owen, Bremerton, and Mrs Shirley Mehrtens, San Carlos, CA; two sons Kenneth and Robert Owen, both of Port Angeles; three brothers, Bert and Fred Owen, Seattle and Romaine Owen, Eureka, California. Nine grand children and two great-grandchildren.
