Charles married Alice May Kimball (1887-1974) on December 25, 1904 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.

Frances Charles "Frank" Cooper (1905-1990)

Charles ran The Hunter's Inn in Calabasas, CA. This business was also know as Cooper's Store and was owned by the Cooper family who were early settlers to Los Angeles and Calabasas. When his wife married Lawrence J. Kramer after Charles' death, Hunter's Inn became Kramer's Grocery Store until 1968. The building still stands and is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, in Calabasas.

Charles was accidentally shot while hunting near the Cooper Ranch in Calabasas. He died 8 months later as a result of the gunshot wound.
