Patricia A. "Pat" Wenger, 50, of Onalaska, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, in her home, after a long, valiant battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 2, 1950, in Arcadia, Wis., to Roy and Marcella (Langowski) Peplinski. Pat married Don Wenger March 7, 1981, in La Crosse. She was a 1982 graduate of Viterbo College, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing. Pat and her family were active in the Onalaska hockey program. She was a proud "Hockey Mom."
Pat served as a registered nurse at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for 25 years and later worked at the La Crosse Health Department.
In addition to her husband, Don, she is survived by her daughter, Amanda, and son, Kristopher; four step-daughters, Terese (Dale) Larson, Elizabeth (William) Bradford, Wendy and Rebecca Wenger; a stepson, John Wenger (fiancee, Lori Stark); three step-grandchildren; her mother, Marcella Peplinski; two sisters: Terri Powers, and Mary Kater; two brothers: Roger (Becky) Peplinski and Ronald (Cindy) Peplinski; and many nieces and nephews.
Her father, Roy, and her brother, Richard Peplinski, preceded her in death.
