Born in Ware Shoals, SC, on October 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Lucy (Gibson) Powell.
She retired from Anderson Mill with over 25 years of service.
She was a faithful member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by two sons, the Reverend Dr. Douglas B. Barton and his wife Remy of the Phillipines and Donnie L. Barton and his wife Joyce, of Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Barton of Anderson; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Barton; a son, Charles W. Barton; two sisters, Myrthel Williams and Margie Powell; two brothers, Reid and Frank Powell and one grandson, Bradford Barton.
