Hanston,Ks.---Marla L.(Berger)Holmes, age 55, died November 26,2013 at the Houston Hospice in Houston,Texas after fighting a battle with cancer.
She was born the daughter of Milton Lee and Wanda(Dunn)Berger on June 10,1958 in Dodge City,KS. She was a lifetime area resident of Hanston. She was a Speech and Language Pathologist for Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative District #613.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hanston; American Speech and Hearing Association and Kansas Speech and Hearing Association.
On July 15,1978, she married Roger Holmes at Jetmore,Ks. He survives.
Other survivors are two sons: Joshua(Abby)Holmes of Hanston,KS and Drew Holmes of Hays,Ks; Mother, Wanda Berger of Jetmore,KS; three sisters: Brenda K. Herrman of Cimarron,KS, twin sister, Darla D. Korf of Humboldt,KS and Marsha L. Fitzsimmons of Ft.Morgan,Colorado and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Lee Berger on Nov.30,2010.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday,Dec.2nd at the First United Methodist Church of Hanston,Ks with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Visitation is from 1 pm to 8 pm on Saturday,Nov.30th and Sunday,Dec.1st at the Beckwith Funeral Home in Jetmore,KS. Burial will be in the Hanston Cemetery,Hanston,KS.
