Howard S. Shaffer, Jr., 73, of Connellsville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in Henry Clay Villa, Markleysburg. He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Connellsville, a son of the late Howard S. Sr. and Sarah Garlick Shaffer. He is survived by two brothers, Paul E. Shaffer and his companion, Janie Fabian, and Ronald L. Shaffer and his wife, Marsha, all of Connellsville; a sister, Patty Shaffer Nicholson and her husband, Gregory, of Confluence; and several nieces and nephews and their families. Funeral services will be private for the family with the Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson officiating. Private interment will be in Normalville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville. [no source noted]
