He was born in Auburn, Maine, on August 23, 1926, a son of the late William and Elsie R. (Ranlett) Stronach. He graduated from Mechanic Falls High School, class of 1944, and then entered the Navy to serve his country during WWII. He also served in the Maine Army National Guard upon his return. On June 12, 1954 he married his beloved wife Jean Thurlow and they had two daughters.
Albert worked at the paper mill in Mechanic Falls until Marcal closed in 1982. He then worked at Pejebscott Paper Mill in Topsham until his retirement in 1988.
Time spent with his family was very important to Albert, including picnics, Sunday dinners, and camping trips throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York and into Canada. He volunteered for the American Red Cross and MARS (contacting family of their enlisted's safe arrival to destination). A ham radio enthusiast, Al belonged to a local amateur club where he volunteered communication assistance to community events. He was also a member of Tyrian Hall #73 A.F. & A.M. Al was also a life member of both the VFW and American Legion Post 150.
He was predeceased by his daughter Debra, sisters Ellen Larrabee and baby Margaret, a brother Ret. Col. Lewis Millett MoH., and nephews Christopher Pepin and John Millett.
