Mr. Joseph "Jody" W. York, 83, of Corsicana, passed away Monday, November 26, 2013, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Preston Dozier officiating.
Jody was born in Purdon, Texas, to the late George and Gwendolyn York. He worked in construction as a machine operator.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; five brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include his son, Ray York and wife, Rosie; daughter, Patricia Sykes and husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Danielle Garrett, Sheila Smith, Devin Garrett, Joey York, Jason York, Brendon York, Quintin York, Gary Sykes, James Dozier, Preston Dozier; 25 great-grandchildren; brother Bobby York; sister, Doris Carpenter; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
