Walter Herbert Robbins was born on Oct. 17, 1881 in Biddeford, Maine, the fifth of seven children born to James and Ruannah Davis Robbins. His siblings were Mary Bell (Robbins) Norwood, Frank B. Robbins, Florence (Robbins) Batts, Ernest H. Robbins, Percy G. Robbins and James Freeman Robbins.
On Octobrt 17, 1907 he married Glenna Hilton of Biddeford in Dover, NH. They had one daughter, Cora Louise who married J. Albert Merryman.
His early occupation was a brick Mason, and later he was employed as a tinsmith by the Saco Lowell Shops, retiring in 1948 after 19 years .
Walter lived at 76 West St., Biddeford for many years according to 1890 to 1940 U.S. City Directories and U.S. Federal Census. He later was a resident of 714 Park View Apartments in Collingwood, NJ. where he died. He also spent some time in Pinellas County, Florida.
He attended Foss Street Methodist Church, Biddeford, and was a member of Dunlap Lodge, F. And A. M., Biddeford, and the Oak Bridge Improvement Society. He was a veteran of the Spanish American war and a member of the Col. L. H. Kendall Camp, Spanish American War Veterans, Biddeford.
Walter’s wife Glenna died on Feb. 4, 1939. In January, 1963, Walter married Irma McAfoos in Pinellas County, Florida.
Walter died at the age of 84 on December 4,1967 in a nursing home in Collingswood, NJ after a long illness. He is buried with Glenna in Greenwood Cemetery, Biddeford, ME.
Surviving is his widow, Irma (McAfoos) Robbins, and one daughter, Mrs. J. Albert Merryman,
