The military headstone photo does not belong to this John W. Johnson. It belongs to this one: 203289199
There were 2 John Wesley Johnson's, brothers. The older one, 1829 - 1907 is the correct one for the gravestone with the inscription Co. G. 14th ME Inf as the Military document shown on that Findagrave supports. This John Wesley Johnson was in that military unit and the document also references his son, John HC Johnson. And it is located in the same plot as his brother, George.
The same headstone picture added to thisJohn Wesley Johnson, 1844-1904 added by Bill Paschal, is incorrect. This is a younger brother of the above John. When the above John was kidnapped by the Indians the parents thought he had drowned in the Saco River and after Jane Manson Johnson, the mother of the above John, died and the father remarried, he and his new wife Sarah Abbott Johnson, named the second son the same name. Thus the confusion.
