Interment was In Oakland cemetery, Peterson.
Pallbearers were Glen and Walter Terrill, Dale and Lyle French, Gustav Krager and Melvin Stlef.
Zelmar Ellworth Patrick, son of Willis and Sarah Frances Underwood Patrick, was born December 11, 1888 at Jolley, Iowa Asa child he came to Sutherland where he attended the school there.
He was married to Josie King at Peterson December 25, 1913. In just a few more days the Patricks would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
This union wait blessed with four sons: Harold, Burris, David and Charles.
He was a farm laborer and farmer in the vicinity of Peterson for the past 45 years.
For about 23 years he has suffered physical affliction, some of the time he has been almost helpless. He has been tenderly cared for by his wife and his fine, sons for many years.
His passing came Monday afternoon, December 21, 1953 at the Spencer hospital at the age of 65 years an d 10 days
He leaves to mourn his passing his life companion, Mrs. Josie Patrick; four sons; Harold Kansas City, Missouri; Burris, Peterson: David, Spencer, Iowa; Charles, Lehigh, Iowa, one brother, W.A. Patrick of Pomeroy, Two sisters: Mrs. Chas. Haas, Sac City, Mrs. Mabel Holtrof, Jolley, Iowa, 7 .grandchildren. Two
daughters-in-law. Jean and Loretta. Besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends who knew him and cherish the memory of his life.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Holtrof, of Jolley, Iowa; Mr, and Mrs. Ellis Adamson, Des Moines, Iowa, Miss Nila Patrick, Perry, , Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Brobst, Bagley, Iowa; Mrs. Grace King, Bagley, Iowa, Mr. Joy Atherton, Algona, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Smith, Sutherland, Frank Bruner, Sutherland, Mrs. Louise Wilson, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. John Drew, Sac City; Mr.
and Mrs. Cloyd Haas, Sac City, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Anderson, Royal; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Thompson, Spencer. A
brother W.A. Patrick of Pomeroy and a sister Mrs. Chas. Haas of Sac City were unable to attend on account of illness
