Robert J. Schoen, age 82, of Cloquet, passed away peacefully at Community Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his wife of 58 years and family. He was born January 16, 1931 in Minneapolis to Claude and Anna (Kolb) Schoen and moved to Cloquet in 1941. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Amerita "Amy" Pollak on June 11, 1955. Bob worked at Northwest Paper/Potlatch for 36 years retiring in 1991, and also built houses. He was a member of the Carl Anderson American Legion Post 262 (holding various offices); Hebert-Kennedy VFW Post 3979; Cloquet Combined Honor Guard; Fraternal Order of Eagles; and Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Bob was quick-witted and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved fishing, camping, cribbage and spending time with his family and friends. Bob was a very creative, resourceful man. He built and repurposed things to suit his needs.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Lawrence Schoen.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; daughters: Cathy (Dean) Guitare, Mary Schoen, Sue (Pat) Brookshaw, Dorothy (James) Bruggeman and Nancy (Steve) Williams; eight grandchildren: Geoff, Rachelle, Katrina, Emily, Matt, Lisa, Rebekah and Ryan; six great-grandchildren, and one anxiously expected; sister, Claudette (Burt) Shotley; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Schoen, and Shirley Johnson; brother-in-law, Albert Pollak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
