Kaminski, Sharon M.

Sharon M. Kaminski (Rolland) of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, went peacefully to her reward on Monday, November 25, 2013 at her home.

Sharon was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1944 in Valders, Wisconsin, to the late Charles & Melba (Larson) Rolland. She graduated from Valders High School with the Class of 1962.

Following her graduation from high school she attended the UW-Manitowoc Center preparatory to her move to Madison, Wisconsin, where she attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor's Degree in Social work and, thereafter, with a Master's Degree in Behavioral Disabilities.

Along the way, after chasing Ron for some 3-4 years (or was it Ron chasing her?), she lassoed the fellow until he finally saved enough to purchase a ring and by her father's permission they married on August 9, 1969.

Sharon loved to read, travel, talk with her friends and cook, she was a wonderful cook.

The highlight of her life, and Ron's, was the adoption of their children, Kris and Kelsi.

Sharon fought like Muhammad Ali (who she adored), but lost in the final round after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ron A. Kaminski, her son Kris (Nicole) Kaminski, of Waukesha, WI, daughter, Kelsi Kaminski of Manitowoc, WI, sisters Judy (James) Herr of Menomonie, WI, and Sandra (John) Winder of Madison, WI, three grandchildren, Alex, Matthew and Ryan Kaminski, her step-father, Herbert Knutsen and many friends and family members.

She is preceded in death by her beloved King Charles Spaniel, Bailey (Bails).

According to Sharon's wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.pfefferfuneralhome.com

The Pfeffer Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Ronald A. Kaminski and Sharon M. Kaminski Memorial Education Trust to be established at Bank First National in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
