Timothy Francis Palmer passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Hospital South Fargo, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born on April 1, 1944, the son of Edwin and Gladys (Denenny) Palmer in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Casselton, ND and graduated from Shanley High School, Fargo, ND. He married Ruth Holte on February 10, 1968. They made their home in Georgetown, MN where they raised 3 daughters, Ranae, Christina and Rachael, and several foster children. Tim was a partner in the family owned business, Mick's Office, Moorhead, MN for 20 years. He was a member for many years of the Roamers 4-Wheel Drive Club in the FM area and enjoyed the adventures and many friendships he made. He was also very active with Fargo Youth Hockey Association and served on the board of the Holy Family Bookstore, Fargo, ND. On June 6, 1992 Tim married LaRae Brown at St. John's Church, Bonanzaville in West Fargo, ND. They made their home in Fargo, Arizona and then recently returned to Fargo to be closer to family. Tim loved golf and spending time with his family, as well as betting his kids and grandkids a buck if he could catch a fly with his bare hands (we are all in debt) and his Mocha Coffee's and Hershey candy bars (with almonds). He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after proudly serving his country during the Vietnam era. Tim is survived by his loving wife, LaRae, Fargo, ND; daughters, Ranae (Jesse) Schmidt; Christina, Fargo, ND; Rachael (Jason) Henning, Denver, CO. Adopted children, Ashley Palmer, Wahpeton, ND and Derek Palmer, Fargo, ND. Stepdaughters, Ronnie (Mike) Vick, Fargo, ND; Shannon (Tracey) Fahrenholtz, Mandan, ND; Tracy (Bernie) Emerson, Reston, VA; his 15 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; brothers, Rick (Charyl) Palmer, Fargo, ND; Steve (Pat) Palmer, Moorhead, MN; sister-in-law, Shirley (Denny) Palmer; 10 nephews and nieces; and his lifelong dog companion, Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Gladys Palmer, stepmother, Ann Palmer; Uncle Palmer ‘Polly' and Aunt June Walters, and brother, Denny Palmer.
