Jerry married Jean Rominske on November 4,1961 in Milwaukee. For most of his life he worked as a roofer. He owned and operated his own roofing business in Salem, Oregon for several years. In 1987, they returned to Wisconsin where Jerry worked as a Park Ranger for the WI Dept. of Natural Resources. Jerry purchased Munson's Tavern in Delta from his father Frosty. He restored and operated the tavern which is still in business today. Jerry will be remembered as a very honest man with a great deal of integrity. He was a good husband and a good father. Jerry was a person that people always looked up to and went to when they needed help with anything. He loved hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Delta; two sons, Daniel (Val) Brooks, New London and Rick (Mary) Brooks of Franklin; a granddaughter, Christina Brooks of Alaska; four step-grandchildren: Melissa Cummins, Kylee Cummins, Aaron Cole and Edson Richard; two brothers, Loren (Eleanor) Munson, Ashland, and Stuart Munson, Ashland; three half-sisters and one half-brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland with Dr. Darrel Robertson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
