Schovanez, Francis F. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. The late Dorothy E. Schovanez's beloved husband.

Officer Francis F. Schovanez, DSN 2057, was originally hired as a civilian on April 16, 954 and started his career with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department at the Fleet Services Division. He would later be transferred to the 3rd District as a clerk on July 30, 1954. He was commissioned as a police officer on 11/07/1955 and entered the Police Academy. After the academy, he had the following assignments throughout his career: They were the Central District, Traffic/Control Section, 3rd, Mobile Reserve Section, 4th, and the Traffic Safety Division. When Officer Schovanez retired on September 27, 1979, he had completed 25.42 years of faithful and dedicated service to the department.

Officer Schovanez was also a veteran of the United States Navy and achieved the rank of 3rd Class Petty Officer.

It should be noted that his wife, Dorothy E. Schovanez, DSN 1435, was also a retired police officer with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Private services were held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on November 27, 2013.
