Painter, professor at the 'Fürstliche freie Zeichenschule' in Weimar. Son of the librairian Christian Jagemann and brother of the actress Karoline Jagemann, mistress of the Duke Carl August. The Duke promoted Ferdinand Jagemann and he was allowed to train with Wilhelm Tischbein and Melchior Kraus. He painted numerous famous contemporaries, several Goethe-portaits and is well known for his drawing 'Schiller on his deathbed'.
