William Smith
GIRARD - William Smith, 100, formerly of Girard, died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday in Autumn Hills Care Center, Niles.
Mr. Smith was born Feb. 12, 1892 in Germany, the son of Fred and Minnie Smith.
On Jan. 24, 1925, he married Anna McCall, who died in 1957.
An Army veteran of World War I, Mr. Smith formerly was head of maintenance at Niles Rolling Mill.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Girard VFW Post 419 and American Legion Post 235.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Burke of Connellsville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Five sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. on Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Girard City Cemetery.
