Monroe is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanette Simmons; 2 sons, James Monroe Moore & wife Gail of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, children Jessica and Alex, and grandson Xander, and Marion Allen Moore of Niceville and children Ross and Shelby, and grandson Miles; 3 daughters, Cheryl Whitaker, husband Mark and children Vslrb snd Miranda, Cynthia Goodson, husband Michael, children Brandon, Bradley, Leslie, Madison and Traver, and granddaughter Naomi, Susan Simmons and children Christopher, Savannah, and Sierra; brother, Robert Earl Simmons and wife Judy of Brierfield, AL; sisters, Mary Nell Etheridge and Martha Gilley, both of Bonifay, FL, and Pearlie Mae Cates and husband Jerry of Dayton, TN; sister-in-law Margaret Simmons; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral services were held at Shady Grove Baptist Church on Jul 14, 2010 with Rev. Johnnie Bradshaw and Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Sims Funeral Home in Bonifay, FL officiating.
