Mrs. Sandidge was preceded in death by her brother, David Stanley; and her father, Floyd Stewart.
∼Mrs. Sandidge was valedictorian of Henderson High School Class of 1974 and graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University in 1978. She began working as a nurse at Good Shepherd Medical Center in 1978, was one of the "Stars Over Longview" in May 2003 and was an ACLS instructor.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters and their husbands, two grandchildren, her mother, her brother and sister-in-law, sisters and brothers-in-law, mother-in-law, and many other friends and family members.
The family wishes to thank the community, nurses at Good Shepherd Ambulatory Surgical Center, the Longview Police Department and the First Baptist Church family for their love and support during this time.

While attempting to assist in subduing a violent patient in the bed next to her patient, Gail was murdered by a family member of that patient. Gail was a nurse at Good Shepherd Medical Center's (GSMC) surgical unit. Four others were wounded in the attack.
