Arthur John Chambers, age 86, of McClelland, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on November 25, 2013, surrounded by family.

He was born February 28, 1927; he devoted his life to serving family, country and God. On March 9, 1950, he married Martha Jean Dorland and they were blessed with three children. In 1948, following service as part of the United States Army's occupational force in Germany he began a successful farming career. He was an active member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church, throughout his life.

His passion for woodworking is evident in the pieces that fill his home, and his passion for people in the memories that fill the hearts of family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Delphine Chambers.

Arthur John is survived by Martha Jean Chambers, his loving wife of 63 years; his children, Wanda Coleman (Jeff Coleman), Fred Chambers (Jo Chambers) and Phillip Chambers (Laurie Cahill); sister, Elizabeth Rindone (Tee Rindone); brother, Walter Chambers (Joyce Chambers); grandchildren, Chris Chambers, Erin Coleman and Conor Coleman.

Visitation is Friday, November 29, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Interment will be that afternoon in the Hardin Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mount Hope United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
