Romulus F. Bryant, 63, a Macon County native and farmer, died Monday at 5:30 a.m. of a self inflicted gunshot wound near the heart. His body was found behind a barn on his farm in the Iotla community.

Funeral services for Mr. Bryant, who was the son of Mrs. Timmie Ray Bryant, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Iotla Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Officiating were the Rev. M.C. Wyatt and the Rev. Judson Duvall. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, W.O. Bryant and H.L. Bryant, both of Franklin; and four sisters, Miss Belle Bryant, of the home. Mrs. Virgie Woodward, of Franklin, Mrs. Bill Sanders, of Route 3 and Mrs. Ethel Fouts, of Winston-Salem.

Serving as pallbearers were Bruce Bryant, Larry Potts, Mack Bryant, Bill Bryant, J.A. Fouts and Lyman Bryant, all nephews.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
