Helen May Jeffery, age 87, of Jackson, and formerly of Colon, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at the Vista Grande Villa retirement home in Jackson.
Helen was born Oct. 29, 1926, in Dearborn, a daughter of the late Walter and Hazel (Willson) Jeffery. Helen graduated from Coldwater High School with the class of 1944. She attained a certification in electronics from Glen Oaks Community College. On Sept. 14, 1946, she married Irvin L. Wagner Jr. in Bronson. Helen moved to Jackson in 2005, coming from Colon, where she had lived most of her adult life. She had worked at Colmer Company in Colon, retiring after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Colon Friends of the Library, Colon American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a former member of the Colon Eastern Stars.
She is survived by four sons, Irvin L. (Susan) Wagner, Donald J. (Lori) Wagner, Duane C. (Barb) Wagner and Lloyd A. (Rhonda) Wagner Sr. ; eight grandchildren; four great -grandchildren; a sister, Margaret (Robert) Malott; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Jeffery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin L. Wagner; a daughter, Betty Wagner; and two brothers, George and Harold Jeffery.
The family will receive relatives and friends 4-7 p.m. Friday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Helen M. Jeffery will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at the funeral home, with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Colon Township Library. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
