He served in the United States Army and was employed for many years at the Clover Leaf Dairy in Pella. He retired from the Armstrong Tire Company in Des Moines, Iowa in 1993 and moved to Redmond, Washington.
Orland was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents William and Stella Huyser, and step mother Evelyn Huyser, bother Forrest Huyser, sisters Beverly Van Zee, and Lavoe Smith. He is survived by his two sons Kevin (Louise) of Issaquah, Washington, and Philip of Bothell, Washington, bothers Irvin (Edith) of Pella, Karmen (Sharry) of Lenexa, Kansas, sister Lavonne (Larry) Vande Kamp of Pella, sister in law Betty Huyser of Oskaloosa, bother in law Meredith (Terri) Van Zee of Prairie City, brother in law James Smith of Pella, and Merlyn Van Dyk (Verna) of Pella.
Orland's ashes will be placed beside his beloved wife Pat in the Tahoma National Cemetery at Maple Valley, Washington.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the Third Reformed Church, Pella, Iowa on December 3rd at 1:30pm with a coffee and visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association , PO Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia, 22312
