Carl Francis Curtis of Sparta, age 88, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 with his family at his side. Carl honorably served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; siblings, Leo, Lawrence, Harold, Marion, Helen, Evelyn. Carl is survived by his children, Donald and Aletha Curtis, Douglas and Brenda Curtis, Carla and Cliff Dayton; eight grandchildren, Andy, Rachel, Nick, Joe, Trisha, Dillon and Roshanah, Dalton, Cassidy; sisters-in-law, Velma Curtis, Jesse Curtis; several nieces and nephews; special cousin and coffee buddy, Frank Curtis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 11:00 A.M. at the Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Sparta. Friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
