Floyd (Wayne) Bennett, 73, of Madams Creek passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at his home following a long illness.

Born January 22, 1940 at Summers County he was a son of the late Augustus B. and Ivous A. Meadows Bennett.

Wayne was a truck driver having retired from Lane Trucking and a lifelong resident of Summers County. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending church while his health permitted. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and boating.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Bennett and one nephew, Roger Lee Bennett.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Yonnie Lee Meadows Bennett at home; two daughters, Sue Ballard and husband Mike of Pipestem and Kim Downard and husband Jeremy of Madams Creek; four grandchildren, Adam Ballard and wife Nicole of Lerona, Kevin Ballard of Pipestem and Colleen and Gwen Downard of Madams Creek; one step granddaughter, Sara Downard of Princeton; four great grandchildren, Christian, Kailey, Karsyn and Addalee Ballard; one brother, Jackie B. Bennett and wife Martha of Madams Creek and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2013 with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.

Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at the funeral parlors.

Pallbearers will be Mason Jones, Norman Farley Jr., Ralph Hartwell, Ray Keaton, Eddie Wills and Steve Mounts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Wills, Billy Joe Young and James Adkins
