Vice President and Director of Chapel of the Chimes, Oakland, California (crematorium/columbarium) for over 59 years, beginning in 1911. He also helped create, design and manage Chapel of the Light Columbarium, Fresno, California. He was a former mayor of the city of Piedmont, California. He served on the Piedmont City Council from 1914-1950 and was mayor from 1939-1946. He invented the Moore cremation retort, which was used worldwide and was a Founder and past president of the Cremation Association of North America (CANA), and member of the International Interment Assn. and the Western Cemetery Alliance. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason.
