Wilma Arlene {Ball} Swanson, age 94 of Monett, MO passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Oak Pointe of Monett.

She was born December 27, 1928 in Eagle Rock, MO the daughter of Truman Eldon and Eva Jane {Prier} Ball. On November 23, 1946 in Eagle Rock, MO she was united in marriage to Warren Victor Swanson, who preceded her in death on August 18, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Buford Ball; two sisters, Ruby Ball and Noveta Swanson; one grandaughter, Charity Woods and one niece.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol Shipman of Neosho, MO, Janice Boreing of Exeter, MO and Susan Swanson of Republic, MO; eight grandchildren, Terry Shipman, Leslie Sears, Heather Merrill, Melanie Woods, Matt Woods, Anna Woods, Stephen Hess and Elizabeth Rodwell; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five nephews and one niece.

Wilma grew up in Eagle Rock, MO attending school in Eagle Rock and Cassville, MO graduating from Cassville High School in 1947. She worked in the medical field as a physician's assistant for several doctors. Wilma enjoyed embroidery, painting, hunting for arrowheads and attending church socials and church at Billings Baptist Church where she was a member for over forty years. She was best known for her pineapple upside down cake. Wilma loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandkids.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, MO, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor James Weaver conducted the services.
