Charles R. Moser, age 82, of Gettysburg, PA died Sunday, November 24, 2013 after a long illness. Born in Gettysburg, PA on November 25, 1930, Charles was the son of the late Harry R. & Kathryn E. (Weaver) Moser. A lifelong resident of Gettysburg, Charles served with the U. S. Navy on the aircraft carrier U. S. S. Roosevelt during the Korean War. He was a member and Past-Commander of VFW Post #15, member of American Legion Post #202 in Gettysburg and served proudly with the Adams County Allied Veterans Honor Guard for many years. Charles had been employed by the Gettysburg VFW for 42 years before his retirement. He is survived by three sisters; Patsy Tawney of New Oxford, PA, Marian Gardner of York Springs, PA and Nancy Keys of Grantville, PA, two brothers; Harry R. Moser of Middletown, PA and Donald Moser of Gettysburg, PA and many nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his sister Jean and his brothers Thomas and Robert. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Burial with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
