Mrs. Adams was born May 27, 1920 in Kentwood, La., to the late Howard Cornelius and Annie Sarah Smith Williams.
She worked for Western Union in Baton Rouge for five years where she met her husband, James Troy "JT" Adams, who was attending Louisiana State University. They married on Oct. 24, 1943. Mr. Adams died in 1980.
Mrs. Adams was a faithful fan of the New York Yankees and UConn basketball, her family said. She enjoyed reading, and her positive attitude was her most precious attribute, they said.
