She was born February 22, 1929 in McDowell County, NC to the late Willard Lewis and Hennie Gardin Lewis. Tet was a well loved lady within the community she lived. She was a woman with dignity and compassion. She cared for 2 special ladies whom she respected and admired at the same time. She was unselfish and generous and enjoyed living for God. Her life was a living testimony of how God's love should be shown to others. She accepted her salvation at an early age and has remained with that same hope and faith as before.
8 years ago a little boy came into her life who can now attest to the fact that her world was filled with abounding love, joy and laughter. And then 3 yrs later a little girl came to give Tet, as some would say, the happiest days she had ever seen. She spoke to everyone she met of her love and proudness of those 2 children. This was a special bond that even death cannot part. Only good memories of laughter and joy will remain and a love that will truly last a lifetime.
In addition to her parents, Tet is also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish this special memory are one brother, Lonnie Lewis and Linda of Nebo; one sister, Shirley Rose of Nebo; seven nieces and nephews, Nic Rose and wife, Tamara of Old Fort (who cared for Tet during her illness), Todd Rose of Nebo, Vic Rose and wife, Robin of Rutherfordton, Kim Rose and Joel of Marion, Donna Rose and Tommy of Mooresville, Mike Lewis and Miranda of Marion and Kelly Lewis of Asheville; and a very special great-niece and great-nephew, Lincoln and Laina Belle Rose.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at McDowell Memorial Park with Rev. Harold Holcombe officiating.
