CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — Phyllis Jean Howard, 86, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Cass County Medical Care Facility.

She was born April 21, 1927, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Jesse and Ruby (Johnson) Hill.

She married Richard Howard who preceded her in death in 2003. Surviving are four sons, Jerry (Kathy) Howard of North Carolina, Richard Howard II of Detroit,Tim Howard of Florida, and Terry (Marcia) Howard of Edwardsburg; two daughters, Judy (Bob) Albrecht of Texas, and Trudy Howard of Cassopolis; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Howard; and two brothers, Roland and Bud Hill.

Phyllis enjoyed sewing. She worked for 25 years as a bus driver for the Edwardsburg school system, was on the Cass County Mental Health board for 27 years and was treasurer for the Edwardsburg Historical Museum.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place. A private family graveside service will be at a later date in Edwardsburg Cemetery.

Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Edwardsburg Sports Complex.
