The Rev. T.J. Weltzin officiated at funeral services for Mrs. Clara Stai at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home Monday. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.
Mrs. Stai, a resident of rural Pinewood for 71 years, is survived by four sons, Martin, Iver, Conrad and George and a sister, Mrs. Ida Amundson of Bemidji.
Mrs Clara Stai, 79, of Pinewood died at the Bemidji Hospital Thursday. She was born in Fosston Dec. 6, 1891, the daughter of Iver and Ingaborg Bruun with whom she moved to Buzzle township in 1900 and had lived there since. Her marriage to Halvor Stai took place at Pinewood Feb. 1, 1913 and his death occurred in 1967.
Mrs. Stai was clerk of the Buzzle school for several years and was an officer and active member of the Osterdahlen Lutheran church of Pinewood.
She is survived by four sons, Martin of Newhall, Calif., Iver of Pinewood, Conrad and George of Montevideo; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Ida Amundson of Bemidji.
