FORREST D. MESERVE

Forrest D. Meserve was born August 18, 1898 to Albert Meserve and Mary Waddell Meserve at Chilicothe, Mo. He was united in marriage to Valaria Lewallen on October 23, 1920, at Chillicothe, Mo. To this union was born one son Robert, who passed away while on the west coast in the armed forces in August of 1954. Forrest had over 22 years of service with Swift and Co. before coming to Pela four years ago to be employed by the Farmers Union as manager of their locker plant.

He passed away after but a brief illness at his residence in Pella, 505 Franklin Street, on July 17, 1956 at the age of 57 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Surviving beside his wife is one sister of Chillicothe, Mo., Wilma, Mrs. H. E. Danielson. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert and his parents.

Funeral services were held on Friday morning, July 20, 1956, at 10 o’clock from the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. The Rev. Wm. C. De Jong officiated and Ralph De Cook, accompanied by Mrs. Ralph De Cook, rendered two selections. Casket bearers were Elmer Hoek, Cecil Vines, Kenneth Kooyman, Leslie Bogaards, John De Nooy, Jr., and Elmer Van Zeel Interment was in the family, plot in Woodburn Cemetery at Woodburn, Iowa.
