Joseph "Jodie" J. Kallina, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on the 24th day of November 2013 in Mentz, TX, surrounded by his loving family.

He married Alice Lorriane Livanec on June 4, 1960 and then moved to Toule, France with the military. In 1964 he returned to Garwood, Texas where he and his family lived most of his life. He owned the Kallina Oil Company in Garwood, Texas and in 2000 he retired and sold his business in 2002. In 2006 he and Alice moved to Mentz, Texas and made it their home.

Jodie is survived by his loving wife, Alice, and his three daughters. He also leaves behind a brother, and sister. Jodie was blessed with eight grandchildren; and was also blessed with one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph "Joe" J. Kallina, Sr.

Jodie was an Amateur Radio Operator, Extra Class, K8KP, for over 60 years. Over these years some of the most notable events he assisted in as an Amateur Radio Operator were: saving the life of a fisherman located in the Gulf of Mexico near Florida, helping hurricane evacuees and assisting with a local bike-a-thon. As a member of the 7290 Traffic Net, he was awarded the "Whitney Nugget" award in 2009 for his service to the net.

Jodie enjoyed woodworking, building and flying model airplanes and helicopters, and traveling both within the U.S. and Internationally. He had a strong conviction for family and his friends in the community. If one of his immediate family members or friends needed help he was available. He enjoyed mentoring his daughters while growing up and teaching them how to be strong and independent women.

He will be missed dearly by his loving family and circle of friends.
