Petersham – Gerard Raymond White, 84, died Friday, June 28, 2013 at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare/University Campus in Worcester.

Gerard was born in Auburn, Massachusetts, August 14, 1928, the son of Raymond and Marion (Clark) White. He grew up and lived in Petersham all of his life.

He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

He worked at the Union Twist Drill for many years and also for Connat Ball Company in Templeton until his retirement.

Gerard enjoyed music, playing the guitar in his band for many years and was known as "Tex" by many area people. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman and member of the Petersham Rod and Gun Club.

He leaves cousins, Connie Lucier and her husband Dan of Hubbardston, Wilf Clark and Jewel Clark, both of Bangor, ME and his two nephews, Jack and Bill of RI.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Nichewaug Cemetery on Glen Valley Road in Petersham with the Rev. Deborah Arnold, pastor of the Orthodox Congregational Church of Petersham officiating.

Higgins-O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is directing arrangements.
