Christopher S. "Chris" Goodwin, 20, of Jeannette, died tragically Wednesday evening, Sept. 29, 2010, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Feb. 11, 1990, in Jeannette, son of Duane Goodwin, of Jeannette, and Paula (Gergely) Hayden and her husband, George Hayden Jr., also of Jeannette. Chris was a 2009 graduate of Hempfield High School. He was currently employed by Steak N Shake, located in Greensburg. His life was his work and riding his motorcycle with his friends was the next best thing. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his three sisters, Anita Goodwin, Amanda Goodwin and Desiree Hayden, all of Jeannette. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Patricia Freed, of Greensburg; and his paternal grandparents, Elmer Goodwin Sr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Greensburg, and Diane Cottom and her husband, Lex, of Scottdale; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park. Chris will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the family.
