Joseph Clark Gillespie, 75, of Midland, died Friday, November 22, 2013, in his home.
Born May 4, 1938, in Hookstown, he was a son of the late James Orie and Dorothy Amelia Scott Gillespie.
Joe was retired from Local 1212 United Steel Workers of America and from the former Bahm's Pharmacy where he had been employed as a maintenance worker. He was a member of American Legion Club, Polish Falcons Nest, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Yugoslav Club, all of Midland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine in 1985 and his brothers, Jim, Harry and Albert Gillespie.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Samuel O. Gillespie, Chester, WV; Alice Marie Gillespie, Coraopolis; Mary Elizabeth Tuttle, Midland; William Frederick and John Louis Gillespie, Georgetown and Judy Ann Mushing, Midland; his dear friend, Proctor Jobe, Ohioville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the D.L. WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 848 Midland Ave, Midland, where a service will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Wilmer Olszewski, pastor of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Greene Twp.
