He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, and was retired from Latrobe Die Casting. For many years, he was an umpire for the Latrobe Little League and also coached Derry Area Midget Football.
At the age of 85, Michael Corey, of Latrobe, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son-in-law, Thomas Fulcomer; three brothers, John, Joseph and Steve Corey; and a sister, Catherine Klapchar.
Surviving are his wife, Julia (Mickinak) Corey of Latrobe; a son, Michael T. Corey and wife, Nancy, of Strongsville, Ohio; a daughter, Marian C. Fulcomer of Dillsburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Walt Corey and wife, Jane, of Lees Summit, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Brackez of Lake Forest, Calif., and Virginia Byrne and husband, Thomas, of Orange, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
