Georgia Lawson, 76, died March 2, 2002, at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Huntsville. Born in Scott County, December 26, 1925, she was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Isabell Buttram Barnes; her husband, Enmon Lawson; children: James Harold, Willard, Glen Clois, and Charles Lawson, and Joyce Watson and Linda Phillips; two brothers, Oscar and Herman Barnes; and two sisters, Mildred Phillips and Evelyn Barnes. She was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. She is survived by children: Clayton Lawson and wife, Phyllis, and Betty Jeffers, both of Oneida, Jewell Trosper and husband, George, of Muncie, Ind.; Earl Lawson and wife, Betty, of Reading, Ohio; Carolyn Phillips and husband, Ronnie, of Greenwood, Ky.; and Phyllis Jenkins and husband, Danny, of Oakdale; 34 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted March 5, 2002, in the chapel of West – Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Interment followed in Hazel Valley Cemetery.
