Funeral services for Edwin T. Phillips, attorney, who died at a hospital yesterday morning, will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence in River Crest. Rev. Edward H. Eckel, rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be David B. Trammell, Gaylord H. Chizum, Guy J. Price Jr., Charles W. Daggett, Lindsley Waters, Dallas, and Harry T. McCown.
Phillips attended the law school at the University of Texas and was admitted to the bar in Fort Worth in 1913. He first became associated with McGown & McGown. In 1919 he formed a partnership with David B. Trammell and later G. H. Chizum and Lloyd E Price were added. He was a member of the Fort Worth, University, River Crest and Meadowbrook Clubs, the first president of the Knights of the Round Table, and was a director of the Farmers and Mechanics National Bank before its merger with the Fort Worth National Bank.
He was married to Miss Mary Louise Young of San Antonio. Survivors are his widow; three brothers, J. O. Phillips and George W. Phillips of Fort Worth, and Harvey S. Phillips of Tyler; a sister, Mrs. H. H. Wood, Honey Grove, and four sons, Edwin T. Jr., James, Olcott and David Phillips.
A resolution was passed Wednesday by the bar association at the Forty-eighth District Court room for the organization membership to attend the funeral in a body.
A committee was appointed to draft resolutions expressing regret over the death of Phillips. THe committee will report back to the association on Sept. 24. Its members are Judge Frank P. Culver, chairman; Harry McGown, A. G. Alexander, M. L. Massingill, Tom James, R. K. Hanger, George Thompson, B. L. Agerton and Frank Wren.
The association also voted to ask Tarrant County courts to adjourn during the funeral services.

The will of Edwin T. Phillips, attorney, who died Sept. 5, was filed Thursday in Probate Court. His wife, Mary Louise Phillips, is named as executrix, and as beneficiary.
His estate was appraised at $100,000.
