Youngest daughter of Archbishop Archibald Campbell Tait and Catharine Spooner Tait. Married John Henry Joshua Ellison (1855-1944) in January 1888.

Agnes died giving birth to her first child, Craufurd Tait Ellison (1888-1942). Craufurd married Marjorie Wynyard in the chapel at Lambeth Palace on 2 August 1914. They had two children: John Damer Craufurd Ellison, born 18 Apr 1915 and died on active service in Tunesia, 10 Apr 1943; and Agnes Mary, b. 12 Apr 1919 and died 3 Jan 2011, who married Edward Hugh Colville and had one son, Thomas Craufurd Colville. Thomas married Nicola Tulk-Hart and had two daughters.

Agnes was the only one of the nine children of Archibald Campbell Tait and Catharine Tait to have a child.
