Sonora resident Jana Kay (Sardella) Gregory died Monday in Sonora. She was 43.
Mrs. Gregory was born in San Luis Obispo to Albert Sardella and Kathy Holmes. They moved to Sonora when she was young.
She was a graduate of Sonora Elementary and Sonora High schools and attended Modesto Junior College and Sierra College in Rocklin.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the El Dorado Savings Bank in Twain Harte for 21 years.
She was a volunteer with Hospice of the Sierra, a member of Women of the Moose and Sierra Bible Church. She supported Sonora Cat Rescue and enjoyed reading and visiting Kauai.
Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Mayme Panero and Red and Albina Sardella.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Derek Gregory, of Sonora; her father and stepmother, Albert and Shirley Sardella, of Holland; her mother and stepfather, Kathy and Guy Holmes, of Sonora; her in-laws, D.V. and Judy Gregory, of Sonora; and her sisters, Jodi Ditler, of Sonora, and Jamie Eger, of Modesto.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sonora Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 4363 Sonora, 95370.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sierra Bible Church, 15171 Tuolumne Road, Sonora. A potluck will immediately follow at the Barajas property in Jamestown.
