JoAnn passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013. She was 82.

Born in Oologah, OK on May 31, 1931 to William and Minnie Lula (Worden) Lambert, JoAnn was raised and educated in Oologah.

She graduated from Oologah High School with a class of 6. After graduation JoAnn married Wallace Brown on September 24, 1949. Their union was gifted with 3 children.

JoAnn loved being a mother and a grandmother. She recently said "Looking back at my life, I am most proud of my 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren." Family was always JoAnn's priority. Sundays and weekends were spent with the Lambert side of the family, basically having family reunions every week. All of her family members were adored by her and her daughter-in-law was no exception. Lana said JoAnn adopted her like a daughter and supported her throughout her life.

While being a mother was the most important job to JoAnn, she enjoyed her work at the Claremore icon and well known business in the community, Wilson Hardware. She worked there for 16 years until she retired in 1985.

JoAnn loved to cook and was known for her great fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried pork. As the family historian, JoAnn presented her family with homemade calendars that included everyone's birthdays and anniversaries to be remembered. JoAnn was a good bowler and held a "200 pin" to prove it.

She was active and enjoyed visiting thrift stores and garage sales to find treasures. JoAnn had a great sense of humor and loved to talk on the phone with her loved ones. She could be seen with both her cell phone and house phone in each hand.

This loving mother, grandmother and friend will be missed by all who knew her. JoAnn is survived by her children, Tony Brown and wife Lana, Susan Palmour and husband Mark, Tim Brown and wife Kim; grandchildren Michelle Koch and husband Tim, Stephanie Czapansky and husband Chuck, Tyler Brown, Whitley Brown, Kim Townsend and husband Joey, James Palmour and wife Yaouaret, Jennifer Williams and husband Jeff, Heather, Alli, and John Palmour; 11 great grandchildren with one on the way; sisters Peggy Newton and husband Bob, Betty Cooper and husband Gary; brothers Gary Lambert and wife Joyce, and Shirley Franklin; numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jim Lambert.
