Clifford Younie, 70 of Manilla, longtime Hawarden resident, died Thursday, January 29, at his home following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at l0:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at the Manilla Methodist Church with Rev. Andrew Stewart-Morris officiating. Casketbearers were Charles W. Agan, Lloyd Cadwelel, William Bargenquast, Charles E. Agan and Al Grandgenett, all of Manilla and Robert Farley of Coggen. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden with the American Legion Posts of Manilla and Hawarden providing the military honors. The Ohde Funeral Home of Manilla was in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 2, l899, at Hawarden, the Son of Lewis Lodvie and Nellie White Younie. He was united in marriage with Thelma Comstock at Hawarden on March 8, l920.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Gordon of Manilla and Donald of LeMars; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Miller of Battleground, WA and Mrs Lola Witt of Silverton Oregon, two brothers, Richard of Berkeley, California and Raymond Younie of Gann Valley, South Dakota.
