TORRINGTON — Aaron Michael Maziarz, of Torrington, Conn., passed away quietly at sunrise on the morning of Nov. 21, 2013.

He was in the company of his mother and two brothers, sister and brother-in-law. Aaron died of an as yet to be determined illness. His passing has been devastating to both his family and friends.

Aaron was born the youngest of five children to Sharon Faita Maziarz on Feb. 9, 1977. He was a graduate of School-on-the-Green in Litchfield and Litchfield High School. He attended Northeastern University, in Boston, and the University of Connecticut.

He loved to travel and did so extensively to Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, the Caribbean and many destinations in New England and along the East Coast. He was briefly a resident of Newport Beach, Calif.

Aaron was an exceptional athlete. He loved to ski and play golf, but his greatest love was to play baseball. He was a member of the Litchfield High School baseball team, the Northfield Shed Sox Softball Club, the Torrington Rebels, the Litchfield Cowboys Tri-State teams, and numerous other area baseball teams.

He had just finished this past season as a member of the Washington Monuments baseball team from Washington, Conn.

Aaron was also an accomplished restaurant operator. His résumé includes County Seat Coffee House and Bistro, Toll-Gate Hill Inn, Maggie Mcfly's, GW Tavern, the Village Restaurant and At the Corner Restaurant, in Litchfield, Conn.

As a young father, Aaron resigned his career in restaurants in order to spend more time with his two young children. He was also an accomplished carpenter in the local community.

His latest career endeavor was as a manager, classroom instructor and on-road instructor for All Star Driving of Connecticut, but he had plans to get back to being a restaurant manager, his true calling.

Aaron attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Torrington, Conn. with his children. He was a devout fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and would regularly attend their contests.

He also enjoyed competitive and social interaction with the many friends he would make over his short lifespan.

Aaron is survived by his two, dear, young children, Celia and Andrew; his mother Sharon Faita Maziarz, brother Richard Maziarz, both of Torrington, Conn.; brother Matthew and wife Brittany Maziarz, of Torrington, Conn.; sisters Corinne Tracy and husband John Tracy, of Harwinton, Conn., Sara Mckenna and husband Aaron McKenna, of Goldsboro, N.C.; niece Meghan Ferrero and nephew Jacob Ferrero, of Harwinton, Conn.; his grandmother, Nevina Faita-Taylor of Windsor Locks, Conn.; his aunt Patricia Faita of Torrington; his cousin Frank Faita and wife Lisa Faita, of Brooklyn, N.Y., cousin Nicole Sears and husband Dave Sears, of Torrington, Conn.; wife Dr. Erin Peck Maziarz; as well as numerous extended family members from all over the country.

He was predeceased by his brother Joel Maziarz, his grandfather Frank J. Faita Sr. and uncle Frank J. Faita Jr.

He was always heard to say how much he so adored his children, his family and his many dear friends. His young passing will affect them all.
